Wesley Francis, known as “Coach Wes” brings over 20 years of experience as a junior golf instructor. The effectiveness of his coaching techniques and successful reputation have earned   him recognition as “The Junior Golf Whisperer”.  Eldridge Miles. Texas Links (2012). He is also a U.S. Kids Golf Certified Instructor, and was a PGA Teaching Professional member.

Coach Wes established his coaching principles from lessons with renowned golfer, Hank Haney, along with Hank’s team of top instructors. Over the past 20 plus years, Coach Wes has coached over 6 #1 ranked junior golf players, prepared over 100 students to compete locally, in addition to  qualifying for the Junior World championships in Las Vegas, Torrey Pines, San Diego, and Pine Hurst, in North Carolina each year.

Currently, Coach Wes is the “Junior Golf Instructor/Specialist,” at Lake Park Golf Course.

Coach Wes was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago in the West Indies.  While attending Grambling State University in Louisiana, he was an NCAA All-American, setting the decathlon and javelin records in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. 

Throughout his career, Coach Wes has received lessons from Hank Haney, along with Hank’s team of top instructors. He is also a US Kids Golf Certified Coach and has been a PGA Teaching Professional member. Additionally, he has competed in semi-pro golf tournaments for over six years. 

Coach Wes Greatest Accomplishments as an Instructor:

  •  He coached and prepared Angelique Francis (daughter), beginning at age 3, to become the second highest ranked junior girl golfer in the world at age 6. Angelique is currently on a golf scholarship at the University of Arkansas.
  •  He coached Kyle Cox, beginning at age 3, to become the number one ranked junior golfer in the world  at age 6. Kyle is currently on golf scholarship at the University of North Texas in Arlington.
  • He also coached Avery Zweig, beginning at age 5.  Avery ranked #1 in the Las Vegas Junior Golf Championship, ranked #2 in the IMG Academy Junior World Championship (San Diego) and ranked #2 in the US Kids Golf World Championship (North Carolina). Amazing at the age of 11, Avery recently qualified for the USGA. She also finished 2nd in the 2018 USKids Junior Worlds Championship in Pinehurst, North Carolina, with an impressive scores of 74 and 64.
  • For the past 16 plus years, Coach Wes has coached and prepared over 20-30 students to compete locally, in addition to qualifying for the Junior World championships in Las Vegas, Torrey Pines, San Diego, and Pine Hurst, in North Carolina every year.
  • He is extremely proud that over 20 of his students have received four-year college golf scholarships.
